Shia Refugees in Sidoarjo Cast Their Vote

TEMPO.CO, Sidoarjo - Marjuki, Chief of the Sidoarjo Police Resort, said that Shia refugees in his region have casted their votes at polling station (TPS) 11 on Wednesday, April 9, 2014. The refugees, who originated from Sampang, had experienced difficulties as they do not understand the language used by the election committee.

"We managed to provide translators for communication between elections organizers and Shia refugees," said Marjuki.

According to Marjuki, police and military personnel were mobilized to secure voting areas in Sidoarjo. "They are all safe. No problem occurs," he said.

Sidoarjo regent Saiful Illah, said that Shia residents in his region have used their voting rights.
