TEMPO.CO, Madrid - Real Madrid plan on signing another Croatian player, Ivan Rakitic, to Santiago Bernabeu this summer. Los Blancos are reported to set an eye on Sevilla's skipper Ivan Rakitic, despite having a band of newly-signed players like Isco, Illarramendi, Casemiro and Bale.
To sign Rakitic, Madrid will have to let go one of their midfielders, be it Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira, Angel di Maria or Luka Modric. Rakitic, whose contract with Sevilla ended summer next year, is likely to leave Sevilla over 40 million Euro.
Real Madrid, however, will have to compete with Atletico Madrid, who has been reported to express interest upon Rakitic. The player has impressed many clubs with his performance in Sevilla, scoring 11 goals and 12 assists over 28 La Liga matches.
