TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Public Works Djoko Kirmanto said he had yet to receive any further update from the Arta Graha Group regarding the latter’s interest to construct the nation’s giant sea wall project of the National Capital Coastal Development [NCICD].
“They said that they wanted to do it. But if they stop at that, we cannot do anyting about it,” he told Tempo on Wednesday, April 2, 2013.
The minister said the company’s interest in the NCICD project was similar to what happened to the planned construction of a toll road above the northern coast of the Java Island. “They only said they were interested.”
He added anyone keen on engaging in the government’s infrastructure project should learn and abide by regulations set by the Ministry of Public Works.
In mid November 2013, the Artha Graha Group expressed its interest to be involved in the construction of the giant sea wall to the Ministry of Public Works. “They asked if they could help with the project. Helping means if we both have the same ideas, why dont we build it together, and we are okay with that,” the minister said.
