TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta government is planning on revitalizing non-busway transportation. Transportation Agency chief Muhammad Akbar said to prepare the revitalization concept. "We will eliminate the deposit system so drivers will be given salary," said Akbar at the Jakarta City Hall yesterday. Those changes could also change the management and types of transportations.
The Transportation Agency will first fix the public transportation management in Jakarta. "One of the options is through PT Transportasi Jakarta," said Akbar. These plans have been conveyed to the Organization of Land Transportation Owners (Organda).
If the management has been fixed, then the government will fix transportation routes. "If not, there will be frictions when there are new transportations or routes," Akbar added.
The Transportation Agency has not decided the target for this non-busway revitalization program. "But I hope it will be completed this year," Akbar said.
