CPO Export Tax Raised to 13.5%

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Crude Palm Oil (CPO) export tax in April has been raised at 13.5 percent from 10.5 percent in March.
Trade Ministry's spokeswoman Ani Mulyati said the tax hike was adjusted with the increase of CPO prices in theglobal market.
"The CPO reference price for April is US$972.88 per metric ton, while the CPO base export price last month was US851,39 per metric ton," she said on Wednesday, April 02, 2014.
The reference price was set based on average prices for CPO in last month at the Indonesian Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (BKDI) and at the Rotterdam Commodity Exchange in Netherlands.
The Malaysian government has also increased the CPO export tax from 5 percent in March to 5.5 percent this month.
