TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The celebration of Nyepi, Saka New Year 1936, which falls on Monday, has been used by Jakarta residents for a holiday. Due to the three-day holiday, traffic jams in a number of areas are seen. One of which is on the road toward Puncak, Bogor, West Java.
According to the observation of state-owned toll operator, PT Jasa Marga, there is a traffic jam on Jagorawi toll road (Jakarta-Bogor-Ciawi), where a long queue of vehicles has started since this morning.
The toll operator’s officer said the congestion started from Kilometer 36, or right at the gate of Sentul Selatan toll road. The jam has snaked down until outside the exit gate of Ciawi toll road, or Kilometer 45.
Once vehicles exit Ciawi toll road, drivers going to Puncak have to be patient again because there is another traffic jam on Simpang Gadog, Kilometer 48. The congestion is caused by the many vehicles driving toward Puncak.
Due to the swelling of vehicles on the road, officers have imposed one-way traffic road on the Gadog-Puncak route, since 9 this morning. No further confirmation on how long the route will be open as one-way road.
