East Bekasi Bridge to Begin Construction in June

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Bekasi city government had given a green light for the widening of bridge above Jakarta-Cikampek toll road located at West Bekasi toll road. The bridge widening is supported by making U-turn and Pengasinan road widening of 12 km.

"The physical construction will begin in June," said Bekasi Bina Marga and Water System Agency's chief of Bina Marga Arief Maulana on Monday. The fund for the project is Rp35 billion and come from West Java Provincial Aid.

Arief said that the 200-meter-long and 12-meter-wide bridge will be widened eight meters, which will make it have four lanes from East Bekasi and Jatimulya. A U-turn will be made under the bridge going to Cikampek toll road. "So people won't have to take a shortcut to go to toll road," he said.
