TEMPO.CO, Rotterdam - Vice President Boediono will lead Indonesian delegations in the 3rd Nuclear Security summit in Den Haag, Netherland on March 24 to March 25, 2014. Earlier, Boediono attended a World Forum representing President Bambang Yudhoyono. Netherland's Prime Minister Mark Rutte will welcome Boediono and leaders of 53 countries, including Barack Obama, participating in the 3rd Nuclear Security Summit.

Last night, a meeting with Boediono was hosted by Rutte at his residence in Casthuis, Dem Haag. Boediono was accompanied by foreign minister Marty M. Natalegawa, Indonesian ambassador to Royal Kingdom of the Netherlands Retno L.P. Marsudi, and secretary to vice president Mohamad Oemar.

High-ranked officials of the host country also attended the meeting, including minister for foreign trade and development cooperation Lilianne Ploumen. The focus of the meeting was to discuss a follow up of Prime Minister's Rutte visit to Indonesia in November 2013, as well as infrastructure and environment minister Melanie Schultz's visit to Indonesia on March 30 to April 4, 2014. Along with minister Schultz, 18 water management companies attended the meeting to discuss a master plan of National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD).

A key point clarified by Boediono in the meeting was that Indonesia will not extend the Bilateral Investment Treaties with the Netherlands, an agreement that will expire in June 2015. Indonesia has planned to make a new bilateral investment template, adjusted with current situations.

Prime Minister Rutte had emphasized the country's willingness to share its experience and enhance cooperation in water management. Minister Melanie Schultz's visit to Indonesia next week is a sign of the country's commitment to cooperate with Indonesia in flood mitigation.

Boediono also mentioned about Indonesia's readiness in the upcoming elections. He assured that the vote will run smoothly, democratically and peacefully. The vice president also expressed his hope that the Nuclear Security Summit in Den Haag will be successful.
