TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Central Information Commission (KIP) has issued Regulation No.1/2014 on Service Standards and Procedures of Elections Information Dispute. The Regulation shortens the time for information and elections information dispute settlement services.
"Election is a series of scheduled and systematic activities with specified time limit, which is why it's important to speed up election information services at election organizers and their dispute settlement process at the Information Commission," said Abdul Hamid Dipopramono, Chief of KIP, on Tuesday, March 17, 2014.
In this regulation, the KIP shortens the time to respond those who request for information from 10 days to two days at the latest while the time to response on objections is shortened from 30 days to three days.
Request for information can be submitted by anyone to election organizers such as the General Elections Commission (KPU) and Election Supervisory Committee (Bawaslu), and may re-submit the requests if they are not satisfied with the provided information.
"If they are still not satisfied, they can file a lawsuit to the Information Commission," said Abdul.
