TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Seven traffic cones belonging to the East Jakarta Transportation Agency have been stolen. Budi Sugiantoro, the agency’s supervision and control division chief, said it was suspected the traffic cones were stolen on Sunday, March 16, 2014.
“Yesterday our staffers wanted to take the cones, but when they checked them, seven went missing,” he said in his report to the police.
Budi explained that based on the investigation by his staffers, a parking attendant identified by his initial only as Z had taken the traffic cones. “He is always around the area,” he said. Witnesses said Z had taken the cones to a kiosk behind the Jatinegara Market.
The location was later searched and the agency’s personnel found three of the missing cones. “The suspect and the other four cones were not there at the time,” he said. Budi said he didn’t know yet the motive behind the stealing. “Maybe Z intends to sell it again,” he said.
The Transportation Agency and the Police are still investigating the case and witnesses are being probed at the Jatinegara Police Station.
