TEMPO.CO, Bekasi - The Bekasi administration is planning on acquiring a part of Tirta Bhagasasi City Tap Water Company’s (PDAM) assets to be transfered to Tirta Patriot PDAM. The biggest asset of the company is the company’s customer number that reaches 90,000 or the overall 180,000 customers.
Bekasi Mayor Rahmat Effendi said the acquisition process is to be done gradually and it is to be commenced this year.
"The acquisition will be done step by step until all customers are registered as Tirta Patriot PDAM's customers," Rahmat told journalists yesterday after inaugurating Hendri Irawan, the new President Director of Tirta Patriot PDAM.
Mayor Rahmat said after Bekasi City established Tirta Patriot PDAM in 2002, former Bekasi Chief Nonon Santono, gave a mandate that the Bekasi City's asset in Tirta Bhagasasi PDAM should be transfered to Tirta Patriot PDAM.
However, the acquisition must be approved by the regional's House of Representatives (DPRD) and the people of Bekasi since Tirta Patriot must prioritize its social function, which is serving the people.
