TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Canadian singer and song writer, Avril Lavigne, made a successful return in Jakarta last night as a part of a promotional tour for her new album, which was released on November 4, 2013.
Based on Tempo's observation, Little Black Stars—Avril Lavigne’s fans—had gathered at Istora Senayan, causing long queue at the entrance. Thirty minutes later, VIP ticket holders were allowed to enter the building.
The concert promoter, Marygops Studios, said the tickets were sold only half of the available. "We had prepared 6,000 tickets, but only half were sold," one of Marygops’ crew said yesterday after the concert.
Although the venue was not as crowded as expected, the concert echoed hysterical scream by Avril Lavigne’s fans in every song.
Avril Lavigne started her music career in 2002. Some of her songs such as I’m With You and SK8er Boy became hits. Lavigne cotinued her success with other singles, such as When You’re Gone, Keep Holding On, and Wish You Were here.
