TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Fire gutted six semi-permanent houses on Jl. Jembatan Besi Raya, Tambora, West Jakarta, on Friday, at around 2 PM. There was no casualty reported in the incident, and the loss was predicted to reach tens of millions rupiah.
Head of Operational Section for West Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department, Abdul Wahid, said the fire broke out at around 2 PM. As many as 31 fire trucks were deployed to the scene to put out the flames.
"About an hour, we can control the flames. We send many fire trucks because due to lack of water resources around the scene and its location are difficult to be reached. The cause of the fire is allegedly triggered by electrical short circuit," Wahid explained.
Vice Head of Tambora Sub-District, Sumanta, expressed that fire came out from the second floor of a resident's house and destroyed six houses surrounding it. "The fire destroyed six two-story houses that occupied by 11 people," he uttered.
