TEMPO.CO, Bekasi - Water level in Bekasi River has risen after heavy rain hit Bogor. As a result, residents in Jatiasih sub-district, Bekasi, are now on high alert for yet another flood.
Bekasi River reached 400 centimeters and the position of the water was 40-cm higher than the surface of the roads.
"Fortunately, water has not reached the houses," Kelik told Tempo earlier today.
So far Pondok Gede Perma residential complex has not been inundated, but the residents remain vigilant. No residents have evacuated their belongings or vehicles to higher places.
However, the residents continued to monitor the condition through the Cikeas Cileungsi observation post, which is established by the residents.
"Water level in Bekasi River may continue to rise," Kelik said.

Engkus Kustara, Head of Bekasi Taruna Siaga Bencana (disaster-preparedness group) said the alert status was still in place until the end of March. Therefore, should floods water came back, the Taruna Siaga Bencana was ready to help evacuating the residents.
"Weather is hard to predict so we prepare everything to help the residents," Engkus said.
