Jakarta Monorail Project Continues

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Jakarta Monorail Technical Director Bovanantoo said the monorail project is still ongoing. The company had tested concrete foundation poles at Rasuna Said (Kuningan) groundbreaking sites. Bovanantoo said the precast concrete for monorail flyovers is being manufactured at Jakarta Monorai’s concrete factory in Tambun, Bekasi.

The company has prepared US$833-million investment for the operation system, as well as US$416 million for maintenance system and train assembly. He said the fund preparation has been reported to the Jakarta administration as one of the 15 required documents.

Jakarta Governor Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo said he was still waiting for the company to complete the documents, yet he allowed the company to conduct groundbreaking.
