TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-run aircraft manufacturer PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI) targeted a 38 percent increase, or equal to Rp4.8 trilion, for its selling in 2014.
The figure rose from that in the previous year, which saw the company's selling at Rp3.5 trillion.
PT DI Trade Director, Budiman Saleh, said that the rise of the selling was in line with the company's plan to strengthen its overseas market, which was lost when the company halted its operation before. Today, the company offers two types of planes: NC 212 and CN 235.
"Last year, we supplied primary weaponry defense system (alutsista) for the domestic market. This year, we're going to expand to Korea, Malaysia and Thailand," Budiman said in Bandung, Friday, February 14, 2014.
He added that besides attracting the old markets that have been lost, the company will also target a new market, the Philippines. "There are potentials in the Philippines," he said.
With the expansion of PT DI products to overseas markets, Budiman hoped that the company would have new compositions of its selling, in which 60 percent of its selling is for domestic market, while the rest is for the overseas markets.
