Flights in Halim Airport Cancelled due to Volcanic Ash

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An eruption of Mount Kelud that occurred in Kediri, East Java, Thursday night, has caused a disruption of flight schedules at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, East Jakarta, Friday. One of them is Citilink airlines flight heading for Yogyakarta, Malang, and Sumatara forced to be canceled due to the airport is still closed.
As a result, Citilink ticket counter is crowded by passengers where they had to return the tickets and some prefer to reschedule the flight, especially those who work or have activities in Central Java, East Java, and Yogyakarta.
Voice President Marketing Communication Citilink, Harismawan Yudi disclosed initially there was no problem with flights to Yogyakarta, Malang and Semarang. Yogyakarta flight will be closed for the next three days. If the airport was activated on Saturday, the flight would be re-opened.
"For passengers who have bought ticket, they could return it and get the money back. Moreover, they can also do rescheduling flights," he explained.
