SKK Migas to Receive Budget from the State

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Ministry Director General for Budgeting, Askolani, said the budget for the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKKMigas) will be included in the 2015 State Budget. He said, the budget source was changed due to a Constitutional Court's decision.
"Currently, the budget for SKK Migas is taken from petroleum fund. The government provides the fund," said Askolani at Finance Ministry's Gedung Djuanda yesterday.
He said that the amount of the budget would depend on ceiling limit provided by the government. Askolani said, SKK Migas's previous budget was decided to be, at maximum, one percent of the oil and gas revenue. All this time, the budget received by SKK Migas ranges from 0.3 percent to 0.4 percent of the revenue.
"SKK Migas depends on the oil revenue. The revenue is from Cooperation Agreement Contractors (KKSK). We directly set aside the budget from the revenue. We will encourage SKK Migas not to be dependent on the revenue but to have its budget from other expenditures in 2015," said Askolani.
Currently the government is calculating the amount needed by SKK Migas, he added.
