TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned TV station Televisi Republik Indonesia's (TVRI) supervisory board has announced the registration of candidates for the station's board of directors, today, January 11. The recruitment is to fill the positions that are currently available, which are Main Director, Program and News Director, Technical Director, Development and Business Director, and Finance Director.

Those who are selected will be in the positions for the 2014 to 2017 periods, replacing previous directors who were fired in November 2013. The applications will be open on January 13 to 21.

One of the requirements that need to fulfill the applications, according to the announcement that was uploaded on the site, tvri.co.id, are charismatic, honest, fair, and with respectful behaviors. "Clean and free of corruption, collusion and nepotism," as stated in the announcement that was published on Friday, January 10. The other requirement is that applicants also should not be a political party's member. If they were selected, they would be willing to relinquish their membership from their parties.

Commission I considered that the Board had defied their agreement from their joint meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR) because they still persisted on firing the former directors. Moreover, the commission was planning to fire the members of Supervisory Board.

According to the DPR's Commission I Chief, Mahfudz Siddiq, a number of the Commission's members were aware who were going to be selected by the Supervisory Board as Main Directors. "I doubt that the recruitment process will be carried out transparently and professionally," he said.
