Halim has Three Slots Left, Official Says

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Transportation Minstry spokesman Bambang Ervan, said that from two out of three airlines that have stated their interest in operating at the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport have confirmed their readiness, leaving three slots available. However, Bambang stated that until now, no more airlines have showed any interests in claiming the remaining slots.
General Manager of state-owned airport management company Angkasa Pura II Iwan Krishadianto, stated that Halim Airport will be fully operational on January 10, 2014.
Transportation Ministry Evert Erenst Mangindaan, admitted that there are airlines that are not interested in moving to Halim because of business consideration.
"Some [of the airlines] refuse, we admit. But a lot of them are interested," he said.
Nine airlines were initially interested to divert some of their flight routes from Soekarno-Hatta Airport to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport. Those nine airlines are Citilink Indonesia, Garuda Indonesia, Kalstar, Sky Aviation, Indonesia AirAsia, Jatayu Airlines, Lion Air atau Batik Air, Mandala Airlines atau Tiger Airways, dan Sriwijaya Air.
