TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) CEO Arief Yahya has been awarded Marketeer of the Year 2013. The jury perceived Arief as being capable of leading marketing strategy in facing both domestical and international competitions. Telkom managed to make profits despite the tariff war set by competitor companies.
"Arief is able to compete despite the difficulties," Sigit Kurniawan, one of MarkPlus Inc committee said in Jakarta yesterday.
Sigit said Telkom successfully optimized its network infrastructure for consumers. Telkom relies not only on old infrastructures, but also on new ones, built in Indonesian remote regions. "Telkom triumphs in creating perfect ecosystem with integration between device, application and network," he said.
Arief has achieved an exceptional profit growth with Telkom. "Investors are happy with Telkom which can be reflected from Telkom's share performance in Indonesian Stock Exchange," he said.
Marketeer of the Year award has been presented since 2006. Arief Yahya succeeded Indonesian Ambassador for the United States who achieved the award last year.
Arief was chosen by jurors including State-owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan as the jury board chief and Astra International Director and Astra Honda Motor EVP Johaness Loman. There are also Indonesia Marketing Association (IMA) Senate Council Head Y. W. Junardy, IMA Secretary General Andrianto Wijaya, MarkPlus Inc CEO and Founder Herawan Kartajaya, and MarkPlus Inc Operating Officer Chiefs Jacky Mussry and Taufik.
