TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Prime Minister of Wales Carwyn Jones and Head of the Wales Football Association Jonathan Ford, stated that the country is interested in hosting the FIFA World Cup event in 2026 together with England. The Prime Minister added that Wales also plans to host the FIFA European Cup 2020 and the Champions League final.
In an effort to prove that the country is capable of hosting such a magnifient event, Jones cited that Wales is about to build new stadiums and expand the capacity of two of the largest stadium in the country, the Liberty and Cardiff City stadium.
Furthermore, Jones stated that the One Million-Dollar Gareth Bale can be the main factor for the country to qualify as one of the World Cup host country candidates. He believed that Bale's mega transfer to Real Madrid had prompted talks about improving football in Wales.
