Sepinggan Airport to be Completed in February 2014

TEMPO.CO, Balikpapan – The Sepinggan International Airport will be officially opened on the same date of Balikpapan city anniversary in February 2014. The airport, which costs Rp 2 trillion, is currently in the finishing phase.
"There will be a verification, certification, and trial phase for a month," Purnomo Hadi, the Airport Project Head, said on Wednesday, December 11, 2013.
Purnomo said that the airport construction will be finished in January 15, 2014, and will be followed with the verification phase.
Sepinggan Airport will become the first airport in Indonesia that includes a commercial mall with a total area of 20 million square meters.
In building the airport, state-owned airport management company Angkasa Pura cooperates with six constrution companies, namely Waskita Karya, Wika, PP, Adhi Karya, Jaya Konstruksi and Istaka Karya.
