TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Govenor Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo said improvement in public services took time to materialize it. "We need to ask the people whether they have felt the changes," said Jokowi at the National Monument (Monas) yesterday.
Previously, the National Ombudsman Commission said almost 50 percent of agencies that provide public services in Jakarta have yet to meet the standard in line with the law on public services.
Changes have actually been made in the services in the city. "However, they're not good yet," Jokowi said.
In relations to the evaluation of village heads and district chiefs, the governor said there are still minuses in terms of facilities. "The district heads may be ready but their staff are not." He said the government would prepare trainings on how to provide services efficiently. "(They must know) How to smile and respond to a request so that they people can have quick services," Jokowi said.
In addition to the evaluation at village heads and district chief’s level, it would also be done at One-Door Services. "If we continue to wait for the Bylaws, it will never be resolved."
