TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Survey Circle (LSI) analyst Adjie Alfaraby said Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has the biggest chance of taking over the president’s chair during the 2014 General Elections.
"Jokowi is a potential candidate for victory because his electability is high," Adjie told Tempo on Tuesday.
This month, LSI held a survey based on presidential candidates that have the potential to be elected aside from candidates proposed by the Golkar Party and Indonesian Democratic Party for Struggle (PDI-P).
"The results were that Jokowi won the survey with 38 percent (of the votes)," said Adjie.
This number far exceeded the amount of votes for the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party’s chief patron Prabowo Subianto, who came in second with eleven percent of the votes. Chairman of the People’s Conscience (Hanura) Party, Wiranto, came in third with ten percent of the votes.
LSI plans to hold another survey near the general elections early next year, in either January or February, said Adjie.
