TEMPO.CO, Bandung - The Cimahi District Police discovered a man who was shot dead in a silver Toyota Avanza on the Cikalong Wetan Highway in West Bandung Regency, Wednesday, October 30. The victim died with a gunshot wound on the left chest.

The witness to the crime, a driver named Asril, said that the victim, Abdullah from Aceh, was shot by an unknown perpetrator while driving on a highway in Jakarta early on Thursday afternoon, October 31.

The victim's car was then pulled over by Cimahi Police Traffic Unit patrol officer on Cikalong highway. The officer saw two broken windows on the left side of the were broken and the victim was seen covered in blood on the passenger seat. The police then took the car along with the victim and its driver to the Cimahi Distric Police headquarter.

"According to the driver, the suspect's car came next to the victim's car. After [both cars] had stopped, the suspect came out and shot the victim, the bullet ricocheted, then hit his left chest from the left side of the car," said the Chief of Crime Unit of the Cimahi District Police Adj. Commr. Suparma in his office on Wednesday, October 30.

"The driver claimed that he's the victim's family, but we also suspect him because he's keeping things from us. At first he said the victim was shot in Subang, and later he said in the Cibubur area," Suparma added. "After a urine test, the driver was tested positive for drugs. We took the victim's body to the Hasan Sadikin hospital morgue."
