BI Reports Decrease of Counterfeit Money

TEMPO.CO, Bandung - Bank Indonesia's representative office in West Java and Banten expressed its optimism that counterfeit money distribution in the area will drop in relation to the education program provided by Bank Indonesia.
M. Gani Aziz, Chief of Transaction System Division of Area VI, stated that there were only 16,000 counterfeit money ever recorded until the third quarter of 2013.
"The number dropped 23 percent compared to the same period last year," he said.
The education program involves elements from the banking industry, police, court, and the public. The program will educate all banking tellers, administrators, and supervisors on counterfeit money.
