TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor pledged to persuade people still living near Ria Rio Reservoir, Pulomas, East Jakarta. He planned to meet people and NGO Front Betawi Rempug that prevents the relocation. "I will talk with all of them. It will all be finished in no time," Jokowi said on Sunday, October 27, 2013.
However, Jokowi kept secret of his strategy to persuade the residents living on the land disputed by the former Vice President Adam Malik's family. It could be by inviting them to have lunch together, like what he did to Pluit Reservoir residents.
Now, one of the obstacles in relocating the residents living on the land not only comes from the residents' rejection. The Pinus Elok low-cost apartments in East Jakarta, which will be their residence, have been completely occupied with residents from Pluit, North Jakarta.
President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo, Budhi Karya, said that Ria Rio residents will get the same compensation as the previous relocated residents. "In principle, they will get the same facility and amount of money," he said. PT Jakarta Propertindo is the parent company of PT Pulomas Jaya, the company that handles Pluit Reservoir land.
