TEMPO.CO, Jakarta- Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Mahendra Siregar, says the capital investment target for 2014 is Rp450 trillion, which is a rational number for Indonesia.
"I’m optimistic with a Rp450 trillion target," he said on Wednesday while adding that current investments indicate investments will continue to rise in the nation. "Next year, we can achieve a growth of 15 percent."
BKPM records reveal that capital investments from January to September this year reached 75 percent out of the Rp390 trillion target "despite the recent economic turbulence".
Mahendra added the weakening of the value of the rupiah some time ago did not necessarily mean investments would drop. For export companies, this situation is actually profitable.
"The most important thing is stability," he said.
