TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Finance Ministry’s Tax Director General Fuad Rahmany said his institution still analyzed the tax declaration forms (SPT) of Banten Governor Atut Chosiyah’s family and companies. “Our team is analyzing them,” he said at his office on Wednesday, October 16, 2013.
Fuad refused to detail the names and the companies that the tax personnel looked into. “I cannot disclose that in compliance with Article 34. We don’t have any comment yet regarding this issue,” he said.
The Tax Directorate General’s External Relations chief Chandra Budi said the directorate would carry out an investigation should the analysis indicated that crimes had been committed.
“If we find indicators of crimes, we will continue with an investigation. But we cannot inform anything yet. The sure thing is, our team is analyzing the wealth data that are already circulating in the media,” he said.
The fortune of Tubagus Chasan Sochib, the Banten governor’s father, has been in the public limelight following the arrest of the governor’s younger brother Tubagus Chaeri Wardhana alias Wawan by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on October 2.
