TEMPO.CO, Jakarta- State-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan said no campaign during Democratic Party presidential candidate convention. This is to assure the public he is not abandoning his ministerial duties.
"Good work is assessed by the society," Dahlan said after convention participants briefing yesterday. Although he chose not to hold a campaign, Dahlan intended to win the convention. He clearly stated he wanted to be a president in next year election. "I still stay focused on my job," the minister said.
Dahlan denied any favoritism rumors among the participants during the convention. According to him, the assembly, especially Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s family in Cikeas, did not give any special treatment to former Army Chief of Staff Pramono Edhie Wibowo, who also joins the convention.
Other than Dahlan, Minister of Trade Gita Wirjawan also takes part in the convention. Both were said of abandoning their job during the convention process. There was even an urge to discharge them from their position as a consequence.
