TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Police arrested airsoft gun owner suspected as part of the terrorist network earlier this morning. "Police nabbed four men," said a Tempo source at the Jakarta Police.
According to the source, the arrests were made by the Sub-Crime and Violence of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation on Jl. Masjid No. 25 RT 05 RW 06, Cipayung, East Jakarta. Other than airsoft guns, the police also confiscated firearms. The source said the man arrested was a terrorist convict who had served his time in prison and released.
Police seized a number of weapons from NS, an airsoft gun shop owner in Depok who was detained last week.
Jakarta Police Director of Criminal Investigation, Commissioner Slamet Riyanto said the police confiscated one firearm from the suspect. "It is a caliber Automatic Colt 25."
According to Slamet, the weapons belong to NS' husband, MS, who is now detained at Cipinang Penitentiary. In addition to confiscating a caliber Automatic Colt 25, the police also seized 12 rifles of airsoft guns and 50 regular ones. "Several boxes of buckshot and CO2 cylinder tubes were also secured," said Slamet.
