TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Association of Land Transportation Owners (Organda) suggested the increase of taxi tariff by 26,78 percent. Several taxi operators responded to the suggestion.
Cipaganti Citra Graha said that they would obey governmental regulation. "The company will obey, because the price of Premium fuel has increased by more than 45 percent," said the Corporate Secretary of Cipaganti, Toto Moeljono, on Sunday.
Express, another taxi operator, will also support any decision made by the Organda. "Because our directors are also members of Organda," said Merry Anggraini, the Corporate Secretary of Express Transindo Utama (TAXI).
Deputy Minister of Transportation, Bambang Susantono, said that the Ministry would set new public transportation tariffs as the fuel price hikes. In Jakarta, some public minivans, locally known as angkot, have increased their tarrifs, although the Jakarta administration has not issued any approval.
