TEMPO.CO, Malang - Batu, a municipality located in East Java, has a fun and unique experience for animal lovers in the nation. The city has a modern zoo named the Batu Secret Zoo located in Jatim Park 2, consisting of wildlife from Asia, Africa and South America.
The zoo has a total collection of around 2,000 animals categorized in 100 types of wildlife. Visitors are invited to get to know the animals closer by not only seeing the collection of animals, but also going on a safari tour and feeding the animals up close.
The Batu Secret Zoo consists of a number of zones such as the Flying Lemur zone where visitors can see various types of primates, birds, kangaroos, reptiles, and lemurs. Animal lovers can also enjoy an amazing experience at the Aquarium Zone consisting of various seawater and freshwater fish.
At the Savannah Zone, people can have fun feeding ducks, flamingoes and take pictures with snakes and birds. There are also many water park rides, playgrounds, a safari farm, and various other forms of entertainment.
For a more thrilling experience, visitors can enter the Tiger Zone and see the zoo’s collection of various tigers such as the Sumatra Tiger, the White Tiger, regular golden tigers, and cheetahs. Students can also learn how to dissect mice and frogs in this area in order to understand the digestive system and structure of the animal’s organs.
People can also enjoy an array of native Indonesian wildlife such as the saltwater crocodile, which is the largest of all living reptiles, the Bali Mynah, and the Cendrawasih bird.
