TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - If you want to taste Acehnese traditional culinary, you can visit the festival in the province which will end on June 20.
Head of the Aceh Cultural and Tourism Agency (Disbupdar), Adami Umar, said that the festival aimed to introduce and preserve Aceh traditional culinary. "To enrich the national culinary heritage," he said in the festival opening on Tuesday, June 18.
The festival is centered at Ratu Safiatuddin Park, Lamprit, Banda Aceh, and also held in all districts and towns in Aceh. Each district provide their distinctive and special traditional foods.
Nurlaila, a Disbupdar staff, said several entities will participate in the event, such as the members of the Family Welfare Movement (PKK), a team from Aceh tourism village, and universities and traditional food seller association.
Some of the special culinary are kuah sie kameng, tangkap chicken, gule pliek u, keumamah, Acehnese noodle, and various traditional cakes. "We will also have traditional food cooking competition," Nurlaila said.
