TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's men's single player, Tommy Sugiarto will meet No. 20-ranked, Marc Zwiebler in the semifinals today, June 15. Tommy is watching out the German's strength as he has a reputation as a tough player in European competition.
"I have to be more alert in the coming game," said Tommy, Friday, adding "Since this will be a home game, the spirits of the audience would definitely help," he said.
The son of Icuk Sugiarto (former Indonesian badminton player) stated there is always a chance to win in every game, including beating Zwiebler.
On the previous games, Tommy successfully beat his opponents in the quarter finals. Playing against RMV Gurusaidutt from India, Tommy won three games, 19-21, 21-11 and 21-10. He admitted to have been rushing on the first game. It made him unable to concentrate, while his opponent was consistently on offense mode.
