TEMPO.CO, Semarang - The National Police Headquarters and the Central Java Police disbanded an illegal gambling site in Semarang on Sunday, May 26. Central Java Police spokesman Grand Comr. Djihartono, said the police have escorted 95 people in trucks to the Central Java Police Headquarters, including 33 employees and 62 gamblers.
During the raid, police confiscated Rp6.2 million in cash, one bundle of transfer proofs, records of coin conversions, bank deposit slips, one bundle of bank transaction proofs, one bundle of vouchers and gambling tools such as 150 machines used for gambling.
Djihartono said the place had a permit to be used as an entertainment center. However, it was apparently used as an illegal gambling site. Police are still hunting for a person with the initial S. who was said to be responsible for the site.
