TEMPO.CO, Tangerang – Two journalists were wounded after attempting to report the clash between two local groups that occurred at Venus Karaoke, Tangerang, on Monday May 28.
The two journalists were Aimar Rani, a contributor for MNC Group, and Eky Fajrin, a photographer for Satelit News. "We have filed a report to the Tangerang City Police," said Aimar to Tempo on Tuesday, May 28.
Reports stated that the clash was caused by territorial dispute between the Kupang and Ambon group. The clash started when a member of the Kupang group, Syafril, was slashed by a machete by the Ambon group. Soon after the incident, the Kupang group sweeps the area for any members of the Ambon group in retaliation.
Crowd control unit of the Tangerang City was deployed to contain the incident and prevent it from spreading.
