TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Leonardo, Paris Saint-Germaine's Sport Director, said that anyone would certainly consider an offer from giant club, Real Madrid. The Brazilian said to understand that Carlo Ancelotti began to think of the offer to replace Jose Mourinho in Santiago Bernabeu.
Leonardo said that he cannot persuade Ancelotti to stay in Parc des Princesm but he wished that Ancelotti would change his mind and decide to still stay coaching Ibrahimovic and friends in the next season. "I am completely understand that when a club like Real Madrid declared its interest, any coach would think of it," said Leonardo to L'Equipe as quoted by AS on Monday.
Leonardo believed that Real Madrid's offer to Carlo is a real challenge for the club. He and Nasser Al-Khelaifi, PSG owner, seemed disappointed with Madrid that offered Carlo, given that the coach was still bound by contract to PSG.
"Ancelotti always gets unconditional support from the club. When the offer from Real Madrid came along, that is a challenge for us," said Leonardo. "They spoke to Ancelotti when he was still bound by contract, and that is illegal. We will make an official complaint."
Leonardo promised to discussed this matter in discussion. He said that PSG would not charge Madrid even when Nasser Al-Khelaifi had already warned Madrid to back off.
"We are in the middle of resurrecting PSG, and we will do everything that is possible to convince Ancelotti to stay," said Leonardo.
Ancelotti came to Paris in 2011 when PSG began to build a solid team. New top players were brought to Paris soon after PSG was taken over by Qatar businessman, Nasser Al-Khelaifi with Qatar Investment Authority in 2012. Yet, it was in his first season, Ancelotti gave Ligue 1 title to PSG.
