Indonesia Successful at Swiss Retail Expo
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The 2013 MUBA retail product expo in Basel, Switzerland, ended on Sunday, March 3, 2013. "Indonesian products sold well Switzerland," Gusmardi Bustami, director general of national export development at the Ministry of Trade, said in Jakarta on Tuesday, March 5. Gusmardi said that Indonesia's diverse products attracted many visitors – not just from Switzerland, but also other countries including Germany, Italy, France, Japan, China, South Africa and the Middle East. National company Kampung Kearifan Indonesia (Javara) posted US$ 800-1,000 in daily transactions. The company was the only participant that sold food materials such as sugar, salt, organic rice, vegetable oil, civet coffee, ginger, and Indonesian sago-based snack, sagon. In addition to promoting national products, the Indonesia Pavilion also featured cultural performances such as traditional dance and local culinary treats. The shows were able to increase the number of visitors. "At the weekend, the total number of visitors to the Indonesia Pavilion reached about 8,500 people," Gusmardi said. PINGIT ARIA
