Aburizal Asks Golkar Members Not to Discuss a Substitute
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Golkar Party chairman Aburizal Bakrie has asked his party members to postpone plans to replace him as party chairman. Instead of talking about his substitute, Aburizal said the most important thing is to win the 2014 General Elections. “Anyone who is interested in the chairmanship should keep his ambition for now,” said Aburizal when addressing members of Golkar faction from across Indonesia at the parliamentary complex in Senayan on Tuesday, March 5. In his speech Aburizal addressed the issue concerning other figures more suitable for his post. “It’s too early to talk about [new] chairmanship,” said Abrurizal. Aburizal gathered his party members to finalize the strategies to win 2014 elections. The chairman is confident his party can gain 19 million votes in the 2014 General Elections. At the event, Aburizal also inaugurated the Indonesian Golkar Faction Communication Forum. Aburizal is planning to conduct a national caucus to appoint a new chairman. “Then, we can talk about [new] chairman,” Aburizal added. MUHAMAD RIZKI | ANANDA BADUDU
