Arabica Coffee from Bondowoso Hits Europe and US Markets
TEMPO Interactive, Bondowoso:After gaining recognition in Europe, the US market is beginning to notice Arabica coffee from Bondowoso Regency. A company, Caffe Vita Roasting Co., from Seattle, has shown its interest in purchasing Arabica coffee from the foot of Mount Ijen and Mount Raung. “The Arabica coffee from Bondowoso has a unique taste. We are very interested in buying it,” said Daniel Shewmaker, a coffee buyer from Caffee Vita Roasting Co., on Wednesday, October 31. For the past week, Shewmaker has visited Arabica coffee plantations in some villages in Sempol District at the foot of Mount Ijen, and Sumberwringin District at the foot of Mount Raung. Shewmaker toured and witnessed directly the planting process of the Arabica coffee by Bondowoso farmers. “We will work together with the coffee farmers here,” said Shewmaker. MAHBUB DJUNAIDY
