Garuda Flights On-Time Performance Drops
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:National airline Garuda Indonesia’s On-Time Performance (OTP) has dropped. As of September 2012, Garuda’s OTP was at 84.50 percent or lower than the same period of last year at 87.61 percent. “The decline was caused by weather and technical constraints,” said Garuda Indonesia CEO Emirsyah Satar at a press conference to announce the company’s performance in the third quarter of 2012 on Thursday, October 25. Garuda Indonesia has set a target of OTP at 85 percent by the end of 2012. Despite the decline, Emirsyah says Garuda’s timeliness is better than American and European airlines. In Europe, the OTP is 80 percent while in the US is only 70 percent,” said the CEO. Garuda Indonesia operations director Novijanto Herupratmono said the airline set a target of OTP at 85 percent to anticipate a 15 percent chance of delay. MARIA YUNIAR
