Smog in Jambi Continues to Disrupt Flights
TEMPO Interactive, Jambi:The thick smog that continues to overshadow Jambi and its surrounding cities has prevented aircraft from landing at Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin Airport, Jambi, especially in the morning. “This condition has been going on since Saturday last week. Aircraft cannot land in Jambi, especially in the morning, because the visibility level is below 1,000 meters,” Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin Airport operational manager Alzog told Tempo on Thursday, September 20. The manager added that landing had been disrupted almost everyday. On Thursday morning, a Lion Air aircraft from Jakarta cancelled its landing at the airport and headed to Sultan Mahmud Badarudin Airport in Palembang for a safer landing. SYAIPUL BAKHORI
