TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The police have named Pandapotan Lubis and Joki Simbolon as suspects for distributing flyers around linked to provoking possible abuse of ethnicity, race relations and religion. Both are members of Bakar Baja (Jakarta Indigenous Warriors) caught spreading sedition leaflets. "PL’s and JS’s status as of this afternoon are as suspects and they’re detained at the Jakarta Police," said Jakarta Police spokesperson, Senior Commissioner Rikwanto, on September 19. According to Rikwanto, the two suspects were charged under Articles 156, 157 and 160 of the Criminal Code of harassment and incitement against a group of people. The punishment is six years in prison. "The evidence secured were 24 fliers entitled “People Suing the Conscience of the Suburban People of the Capital City,” he said. Rikwanto explained that on September 18 at 17:45, Supardi (the person who filed the report) found Lubis handing out flyers. The leaflet contains a statement to treat the Chinese people as enemies. The flyers were distributed to road users at the crossroad next to the Matraman police precinct, East Jakarta. “At the same time Supardi reported Lubis to the Matraman Police, Pramono, a member of Jokowi’s success team, reported Joki Simbolon for the same case," said Rikwanto.
