In Jambi, Even Pompong Rafts didn’t Escape Corruption
TEMPO Interactive, Jambi:Jambi Police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Almansyah explained that they are compiling dossiers linked to corruption in the procurement of pompong (wooden rafts) at the East Tanjungjabung Office of Marine and Fisheries in Jambi. Before submitting the dossiers to the Attorney General’s Office (AGO), the investigation team from Jambi Police must ascertain losses to the state. "We are still waiting for the results of the financial audit," he said on September 10. The procurement of 100 units of pompong in fiscal year 2010 cost Rp3,4 billion. Investigators have established a suspect, Zainal, CV Dulandari’s partner. The investigation team has scheduled an expert witness from to testify to determine the losses. The case came to light after the discovery of a possible discrepancy in the specification of goods. The team has summoned a number of people for clarification, including the former head of the East Tanjungjabung Office of Marine and Fisheries, Sabri. SYAIPUL BAKHORI
