When They Broke the Fast Together
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Member of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission III Ruhut Sitompul says President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has officially mediated between the police and the KPK in connection with the investigation into the SIM simulator corruption. Ruhut who came with President Yudhoyono at the fast-breaking event with the Police at the Police Headquarters claimed he saw it with his own eyes.
According to Ruhut, after the meal, the President stood up and summoned Police Chief General Timur Pradopo and KPK Chair Abraham Samad. At that time, Timur stood on the left of the President and Abraham on the right. "Bapak President asked both to synergyze, and then the President shook hands with both and the two shook hands with each other," Ruhut said after the event.
Ruhut rejected claims that the event was stiff, especially between the leaders of KPK and the Police. He said that Abraham, Timur and the Chief of the Criminal Research Unit (Bareskrim) Commissioner General Sutarman blended in the event.
With regard to the KPK Law being violated because of the synergy in the investigation, Ruhut disagreed. According to him, no action was illegal, no law was violated. He is even planning to discuss the KPK Law in House Commission III once the recess is over.
"There is nothing illegal, the important thing is the eradication of corruption, the synergy between KPK and the police should be supported," he said. INDRA WIJAYA
