Special Agreement for Sunda Strait Bridge
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The government will make a separate cooperative agreement with the initiators of the project development area of Sunda Strait infrastructure. Public Works Minister Djoko Kirmanto said the agreement was made to accommodate the wishes of the Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo.
"In addition, there will be a regulation by the Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs," Djoko said after the Team Seven meeting at the Ministry of Public Works on Monday.
According to Djoko, it is most likely that the project feasibility study will be carried out by PT Graha Banten Lampung Sejahtera. The company that is owned by tycoon Tommy Winata is determined to work on the project worth trillions of rupiahs.
On the other hand, Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo, Minister for National Development Planning Agency Armida S. Alisjahbana, as well as Transport Minister Ervert Ernest Mangindaan have been reluctant to comment. They called for Industry Minister M.S. Hidayat to act as a spokesperson representing Team Seven.
Industry Minister M.S. Hidayat says the entire team has agreed that the development of the area and the construction of the Sunda Strait bridge will not be separated.
"We’ve agreed that this project will continue and there will at least be one more meeting to reach a final decision," said Hidayat.
According to Hidayat, who will conduct the project feasibility study is still being deliberated and will be decided at the next meeting. SYAILENDRA
