Team 7 Agreement on Sunda Strait Bridge Problem
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Team 7, which is discussing the recommendations of the Sunda Strait region infrastructure guarantees that the development of the region will be merged with the construction of the bridge. Industry Minister M.S. Hidayat says the entire team has agreed on it.
"We’ve agreed that this project will continue and there will at least be one more meeting to reach a final decision," Hidayat said after the meeting of Team 7 at the Public Works Ministry on Monday.
According to Hidayat, what has not been agreed upon at this time is who will conduct the feasibility study. This will be decided at the next meeting.
Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo, National Development Planning Agency Minister Armida S. Alisjahbana, as well as Transport Minister Ervert Ernest Mangindaan are unwilling to comment. They appointed Hidayat to speak on their behalf.
Public Works Minister Djoko Kirmanto says there will be a cooperation agreement between the government and PT Graha Banten Lampung Sejahtera consortium. In addition, there is a regulation of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, which also accommodates the interests of the government and the consortium.
"The cooperation agreement will accommodate the wishes of the government and the executor," said Djoko. The agreement will be discussed in subsequent meetings.
It is highly likely the project’s feasibility study will definitely be conducted by PT Graha Banten Lampung Sejahtera. The company, owned by tycoon Tommy Winata, is determined to work on the project worth trillions of dollars. SYAILENDRA
