KPK Declares Siti Hartati Murdaya a Suspect in Buol Bribery Case
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Antigraft Commission on Wednesday named Indonesian tycoon Siti Hartati Cakra Murdaya Poo a suspect in a Rp 2 billion bribery scandal involving Buol Regent Amran Batalipu. Hartati had allegedly paid a Rp 2 billion bribe to Amran to not only acquire more land concessions in the regency, but also to secure the interests of her palm oil firm, Hardaya Inti Plantation (HIP), in Buol.
Amran and two of HIP's employees were arrested in June. Hartati has since declared her innocence, stating that the money was no more than a social donation. *** FEBRIANA
